You Save Me

Contributed by midnightsky on Wednesday, 31st July 2002 @ 06:28:56 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

a vacancy overlooked
desperately longing for Your touch.
a smile to hide the pain
this has all become too much.

a shudder, a wince
creeps on me in my truth.
a quiet cry escapes my mouth,
as time ticks by
so does my youth.

creating a bed of thorns to lie in
i ask myself why.
when my own sharp points punch right through me,
its something i can't deny.

too tired to speak
too angry to hear
too afraid to move
i'm stuck in fear.

my cry becomes Your call
speaking of refuge, grace and peace
and once again with my head held low,
You save me.

The sheer beauty of this has made me tearful. I can't praise it enough. Welcome to YPDC. I'm looking forward to reading more of your poetry.
