My Brother

Contributed by movax on Saturday, 24th January 2009 @ 07:11:24 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Today my heart was breaking and my soul was aching
For you my brother
I do not know how many more days it will take
For us to meet and greet each other again

You wanted out and so did I
I tried it once but did survive
But if I had left this life that day
I would never have known your glorious ways

The love you showed me throughout the years
Could only have come from a brother so dear
Your heart was kind and your soul did shine
May the Lord hold you in His arms divine tonight

I know that people often say that they know how someone feels, but really don't. My little brother died just a month ago on Christmas Eve, so I do know how you are feeling. The writing helps a tiny bit, I did it last month after my little brother's funeral. My deepest sympathys for your loss.

There is no easy way to deal with the pain of parting from those we are closest to.
The memory shines brightly through your work here

Steve

A lovely and courageous piece that holds up the past and lift's his spirit to God. May you find peace in it.

Be well,
Loende
