Ancient and deserted seas.

Topic: LovePoetry

Old friend,

Once again, my heart denies me the eternity of your grace, and I am tear-struck and smiling at the sounds of your song, singing beneath the influences of a sturdy rain.

In my thoughts, you are the thunder and the sun, the fast oncoming wave of an ancient and deserted sea, and you are the moonlight at the crown of an unfolding dawn, the stars of an absent sky.

In my dreams, our voices blend, and our fingers run parallel along the strings of our song, and our eyes find in one another the certainty of a cloudy day dispersing into the scarlet dews of dusk.

In the moment’s pause that my thoughts rest, your thoughts walk casually by, and as my dreams descend, your dreams lift and set to fly over ancient and deserted seas.

We grow older every day, our voices grow ever feeble, conquered by silence, laid waste by broken promises, and our hearts find love has fallen, undone by the very songs we sing.

Very, very bittersweet and melancholy. I like it a lot; the metaphor and imagery... very nice.

Thank you for an enjoyable read.

Take care,

Tim
