Your eyes glistened as you spoke,
I could hear that lump form in your throat,
We had to say the things we said,
Otherwise our friendship would be dead,
We thought long and hard about what we had to say,
Yet we couldn't really remember one word at the end of the day,
We spoke from the heart,
Which is the best part,
You were kind and spoke the truth,
We got caught up in things because of our youth,
We thought from our hearts instead of our heads,
Never thought of the future of which we would later dread,
It could have been a bad situation,
Luckily you didn't throw the candlestick in your frustration,
We said our thank-you's and our sorry's,
We took our time and didn't hurry,
Things are now good all round,
We have finally found that middle ground,
As you said "There is a fine line between love and friendship",
And as you can guess I am sure glad we found it.

I liked it. It's a little wordy in some places, but I love the candlestick line. It made me giggle. :) |
