I felt. . .
beneath me
only floorboards, hard,
& air, stone-cold.
third eye, blind
until I closed
all aperture. . .
lens of hazel,
flecked with gold.
& once alone
within my mind,
how wrapped up. . .
in my night sky.
hanging, lithe,
upon a star.
soon transformed,
I'd come so far.
from child to brillant satellite,
sought to adorn
the comets' flight,
& constellations next to me. . .
I felt the orbit set me free.
the space emmence.
time ceased 'exist. . .
lulled into a girl
. . . who sits.
an odyssey
within my head.
breath & ash
from fires, long dead.
a passage from a book,
once read. . .
words that feign
to meanings lure,
the art of intimacy,
so pure.
while reaching not,
I touch the clay
that solace saves,
but crack the mould,
& in dismay,
to fortify,
with wand, I pray.
along the drifting waters edge. . .
upon the universal ledge. . .
deep within the milky way
I turn. . .
to find another day
where every worry
fades like bone.
I turn. . .
to find myself half-grown.
as every choice
is but my will,
& peace is mine
if I am still.
