~LEFT WITH A VOID~

Contributed by Jenni_K on Wednesday, 14th January 2009 @ 06:18:34 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

~~*~~

This tragedy has left us with a void
Our lives will no longer be the same
Let’s all treasure those precious memories
And not look to assign any blame.

Some days will be dark and oh so cold
Be not afraid to display your sorrow
Hold on to the memory of dear Nicholas
And the Lord will guide you into tomorrow.

Your precious friend is now with the Lord
Amongst other flowers in bloom
I’m sure he is whispering down at us,
“Let not your hearts be in gloom.”

As he rests now in the saviour’s arms
Choruses of angels you will hear.
So rest in peace, “Chicken” our friend,
Pain and suffering you’ll no longer bear.

~~*~~

In memory of Nicholas, who died yesterday after having been in a motorbike accident on Thursday. He was only 23... and a very good friend to my family. RIP, Chicken...

God now has another angel in heaven. I heard that somewhere the other day but don't quite remember where but I like it and am sure that has got to be the case for someone dying so young. I guess God needed him there. :-( It's still tough though I am sure. I am sorry for your loss.

Written very beautifully, Jenni.

Take care,

Tim

Jen,
this is such a touching write. The loss is hard within itself but then explaining it to children, oh my I know the pain there as well. This is beautiful. Such a travesty to lose a friend so young, so sudden.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Lovely poem that left my eyes misted.

Hugs
Michelle

You write with great depth and earnest sincerity. Your remembrance and goodbye to your friend touches the heart of every reader.

Your words below brought me much peace. I believe in quiet whispers from up above.

"Your precious friend is now with the Lord
Amongst other flowers in bloom
I’m sure he is whispering down at us,
“Let not your hearts be in gloom.”

Your poem reveals your great loss and yet it also feels peaceful - leaving the reader with "till we meet again" kind of feeling.
