I have to admit.
A small part of me gets excited
not knowing if,
youre gonna grab
the carving knife
from my hands
come at me with it,
cause I still dont know
how to carve the bird,
or what kind of meat you prefer
after twenty-seven
Thanksgivings together.
Personally
I see no difference between
dark or light meat.
Im just looking to get through
the damn meal alive, not end
in the hospital
like I did forth of July
over Bar BQ sauce or not
on those burgers of yours.

Dang! Dangerous! . . . but atleast it seems you have a heads-up.
I've really gotten a kick out of most of your poems. I am sure that
the serious undertones that I perceive are not accidental.
In regards to this & several of your other posts of late,
I'd just like to say I enjoy the irony. peace. elle |
