TODAY I LOOKED IN THE MIRROR
STARING BACK AT ME
WERE THE SAME BROWN EYES
BUT FAT CHUBBY CHEEKS
FROM THE MIRROR I TURNED AWAY
WAS THAT BLACK HAIR STREAKED WITH GRAY
OH NO,I JUST HAD TO LOOK AGAIN
LOW AND BEHOLD A DOUBLE CHIN
SEARCHING THE HOUSE
FROM ROOM TO ROOM
NOW KNOWING I WAS DOOMED
WHERE OH WHERE CAN I BE
LOOKING DOWN TOWARD MY SHOE
SOMETHING THERE BLOCKED MY VIEW
NOW I UNDERSTOOD WHY
ELASTIC WAS IN ALL I HAD NEW
NOW YOUNG THIN GIRLS LISTEN!
THE MORAL TO THIS STORY IS
WITH AGE WE CHANGE.
I LOOK BACK ON MY YOUNG YEARS
HOW I LIKED TO IMPRESS
OTHERS WITH MY THIN BODY
AND A CUTE LITTLE DRESS.
IMPORTANT ONES NOW DON'T CARE
HOW I LOOK,
IN THE DOOR THEY COME YELLING
HEY GRANNY LETS COOK.

Hmm, hmm!! this one made me think...for a good long time-but I sense that the stuff I write of will change over time. |
