I am here with you each and everyday.
Giving you the best love in every way.
Knowing one another for more then 2 years.
Sharing the laughs the smiles the tears.
Getting to know one another from the inside out.
Moving in together knowing things will be fine without a doubt.
Now here we are almost a year has gone by.
But I now find myself wiping a tears from my eye.
We knew what we wanted a family love and marriage.
Now your painful past comes to haunt, and our love to parish.
She passed on so many years ago.
And here you are and you cant let go.
You let the pain she caused hold you back.
And Now to me it seems like a great big smack.
You tell me you love me and don't want me to ever go.
But when it comes to marriage different feelings show.
You still love her and she is dead.
And this tragedy prevents us from ever being wed.
You still have her picture and several other things.
Include the damn engagement ring.
It all sits here in our home.
And all I see is her ghost when I am here alone.
I will give another half a year and that is all.
And then at that time you have to make the call.
I am sorry my love but this is how it must be.
Time to decide it is her or me.

I wonder why you don't use as many commas as I feel you would need, but actually, your poem conveys a sence of the pauses, so such commentation is not neccesary. On another, less formal note, I can relate to how you feel; Like it was never meant to end this way, but alas, we must all learn to say goodbye. It is a fact of life. We should not forget about our past, but rather look to the future. Good job =P. |
