I'm having an inspirational drought
It's insane I just want to scream and shout
The words just won't come and I don't know
But with out water the steam won't flow
My steam of thought is running dry
and as I watch the days go by
the stream is empty
I wait in doubt
that more water will flow
I wait for the end of this drought
Of inspiration
until then the words won't come and what to write
I just don't know

I know how this feels. I have had a dry spell for 6 months. now I have sadness to inspire me which. Writing helps me get it out.
Very nice poem. |

I hate those times, those poet's-blocks if you will, when sometimes the stream of thought just shrivels up; When life can be so ordinary, we can loose our sense of originality. I am at a time in my life where everything feels so dull, not even darkness or sadness to inspire me. Eventually, it will pass, and I will write once more, but until then, I await the rains.
One day, when all seems lost, the rains will come. |

Well now, friend,
This write certainly came thru.
Sometimes our brains just gets tired. We gotta rest our pens too.
Keep writing like this and you'll get wherever you're going.
Big luv, huggs, smiles, resting, blessings,

i know the feeling. it is like poetic invention comes in cycles, it is very strange. i have always found that writing through it is the best way, which is what you are doing. i liked this write, it had an edge to it.
