remember back in the day
in sweet summer may
when we were youngsters
and use to say
you love me
you love me not
we knew the answer then
we swore we would love others
and i came round to your mothers
or maybe brothers
and we kissed
in a sweet embrace
innocent
young
foolish
you tore my soul a sunder
you were mine!
and i was yours!
our love
shatterd
i was your slave
your tool
and yet our love
was nothing more than
an emotional duel
and when i look back
to what could have bin
through the mess
through the din
i see us
together
in fine summer weather
playing amongst the heather
no snare or tether
free!
and i wonder
why when how
but it happend it ended
how cruel fate is
our love not to be
i loved you and you loved me
