Catch & Release

Hang on to all things, tight,
memories and friendships
and lovers in the night
feelings and experiences
and fashion, just for show;
then when its close to over
ease the grip and let it go.
Keep near that most valuable
hold them in your arms;
love and show compassion
and lessen greater harms
and when the grasping’s over
and they struggle for release,
flip wide the cage that holds them
and wish them only peace.
Gather friends and things around you
build them in a pile;
range all of the emotions
from love to jealous bile
eat and drink and covet,
laugh and sing and cry,
then when its time, pass it on
and bid a sweet goodbye.

greetings spike. . .must post a comment on this jewel. . . only last evening I saw this film. . . what a delicious story, with unending charm. so bittersweet. . . as life itself seems to be. torrid & yet calming, all at once. utterly fascinating & I hope to hold each nuance of thought that it brought mind. wonderful tribute, yours, to that affect. peace & blessing. elle |
