how do you explain yourself
ditching a friend like that
youve known her longer than i
and i still have her back

And i know exactly how you feel
It hurt me when i heard
but i learned to get along
even if you knew her first

she may have thrown her life away
hanging out in the wrong crowd
starting using drugs
but her progress has made me proud

she isnt perfect yet
but neither are you
just because i cant find a flaw
doesnt mean your perfection is true

just because you were able to stay clean
doesnt mean you have the right to be mad
Im straightedge and clean also
so i know exactly how bad

how much it hurts to see
someone so great sec um to that
but shes gotten so much better
its really not so bad

Im not gonna say I wasnt mad
i would rather she stopped it
but i love her so much
it out shines the difference

You were her best friend
i was nothing
i forgave her
you arent even attempting

Im not condoning her actions
not saying its alright for her
but its reality
so learn to make it work

We are the only hope
the only ones she knows who are clean
now her healths an issue
so use you're common sense that Ive seen

just cause your life is not the same
that is no excuse
she just needs a trusting friend
she needs someone like you

in a town full of negatives
she needs someone like us
a positive role model
and i cant be enough

with just me, one man
I cant convince her to change her life around
but two close friends taking a stand
will be enough to bring that special girl back around

the one you were such great friends with
the girl love with all my heart
the one with all the potential
I just need you to start.
