To YOU.+

Contributed by Anaztasia on Saturday, 3rd January 2009 @ 10:30:04 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

To my father

I remember, dad,
All the things you’ve said,
And all the things you’ve taught me
Will never be forgotten…
Your life has ended early
But please, my dad, don’t worry
I will not let you down…
Your name I will renown.

To my mom

This day is more than just a day.
I understand you’re sad.
You’ve lost the dearest man today
Your husband and my dad…
Please, know, you’re not alone.
We all are full of sorrow
We’ll help to carry stone
Today… and live again tomorrow
We, all that lost a friend,
A son, a brother, father
And you, my mother
That lost a husband of more than 20 years,
Must let come out all of our tears…
And then remember to move on;
Although, my dad is gone
He is still here, in our hearts
Because it is where love first starts…

"Because it is where love first starts."

What a beautiful line in a lovely and heartfelt piece. You've written a touching tribute to two wonderful lives that came together and now have to be parted. I hope you can find comfort in the knowledge that they will be reunited. Love that strong will always endure. May you have Faith and be strong during these trying days. I have no doubt that your Father was very proud of you.

Be well,
Loende
