What good are pretty people,
when pretty really is ugly?
What resemblance of pretty has this person gained
when
the mirror only reflects,
not shows,
the pretty inside?
Maybe this person is in denial.
Maybe pretty isn't inside.
It's dark and twisted in there.
No one wants to see the ugliness they hide.
Their pretty is only fake.
It teases eyes and plays jokes on minds.
Other fave looked for pretty.
They gave up
thinking pretty was something their heart couldn't handle.
When really, it was already there,
waiting for their acceptance.
They missed it.
They kept on searching.
Pretty loves you,
Can't you see?
Look inside and
bring it to the surface.
