As the morning sun reflects off the waves,
sitting in a throne of snow wasting thoughts of fallen years and mourning friends.
Seeing faces like waves all grown or have faded away.
Times were tuff in those olden days, drugs and low selves easy prey to bad desires,
walking down hardened streets with anger buried in empty happiness,
Friends in the strangest places some would die to watch me, just to try and figure me out.
The road of empty so many miles all with worn out souls,
Strength a thing i never new, cold born without a heart,
empty like the walls of my old shell the one i spent a eternity within.
Playing blind justice and wallowing in a pity that wasn't my own to spin,
just an excuse to hate my own reflection this monster in blue eyes.
Fighting to not drown in this sea of mass confusion and golden roads,
sensing the reality in this fabricated world.
Only waiting to be able to grab reality and tear the veil i see around me.
This false illusion a hopeless romantics dream.
Future a never ending ride with fate wild and out of my hands, unable to control what is coming tomorrow.
A spirit with black eyes always helping me always guiding me to the next fall in life,
with friends that fail that task which is the hardness of life and bitter truths covered with dirty lies.
Days lost like toys in the attic forgotten with childhood and bears with worn out skin.
We bottle fears and sell them in the marketplace with buy and sell stained on our lips,
cut copies walking the street eager eyes that follow new moons.
When we turn around we chase tails of old, sand bagged to stop the flood.
anything to stop the flood

Wow, the last stanza is very strong, and really yanks you back into the poem, if you happen to be set adrift, but a wonderful write. I really need to learn how to write more freely and free myself of the typical bonds of stanzas =). |
