Thinking about your love once given, I am overcome
Such warmth, love and life, now sequestered to the dark
Life’s grand bloom, dark and lonely, will surely succumb
Again we can wake to the sun, paying to each, minded hark
Cold damp, terracotta hungers the radiance of adoration
Wet clay as feelings; strengthen when fired in a kiln of want
Desire, not of old, but rather of a new, boisterous elation
Drive back the qualms and let prosper our desires’ détente
This tamponade of our hearts must cease to allow us to love
Blood, as love still flows through years of all that we have shared
Stenting the collapsed vessels with trust and hopes there of
Profusing wholly once again, a life’s love, anew and unimpaired
Healing of these two souls that were horribly rend asunder
Would once again restore our lives filled with wonder

wow, you really showed off with this one! your language use was extraordinary. it was like an amorous ode written by albert einstein. such an intelligent write. i'll paste this bit because it was world class:
Cold damp, terracotta hungers the radiance of adoration
Wet clay as feelings; strengthen when fired in a kiln of want
Desire, not of old, but rather of a new, boisterous elation
Drive back the qualms and let prosper our desires’ détente
how good was that?!?! i bow appreciatively at the work of a true artist, a true linguistic magician. marvelous.

If she's not reading your poetry she's really missing out. But trust me I feel your pain there... hubby thinks anything that doesn't rhyme isn't poetry and refuses to read anything I write...:(
