The beauty of her ballad
flowed through the tranquil morn.
Stunning was the music
like sunshine through a haze.
I listened, felt a shiver
for calming was the voice.
As she sweetly sang
the search for better days.
The pitch trembled slightly,
emotions touched each line.
A time of wishful dreams,
mistakes that had been made.
Still reaching for tomorrow
on streets not paved with gold.
Yet, I hear contentment
as the last notes softly fade.
