Echo

Contributed by ThirtyDays on Saturday, 22nd March 2003 @ 12:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

These words echo in my head
Of a love once alive
Now left for dead

" I love you for what you've done for me "
I said, too afraid to be totally free

" I'm in too deep.. I love you "
She said, could this be true?

" I have daydreamed of what life would be like with you "
We said, sharing and caring as we grew

" I'm very pleased "
She said, adding to my ease

" What are you doing here? "
She said, igniting my worst fear

" I need to know you'll be there for me "
I asked, needing to feel, feeling to need

" You made me happy when I thought I'd not be happy again. I am setting you free "
She said, offering thanks, but cutting me off at the knee

" I am alone now."
I reflected, holding my brow

" Things don't have to change "
She said, her voice sounding strange

" I have to change "
I replied, my world is rearranged

" It's not up for debate, I don't feel like you do "
She added, so defiant, it must be true

" Why does it hurt so much? "
I asked, no answer expected for such

"Is compassion also not a part of passion"
I thought quietly, knowing of no answer
