MOM,i wanna go home!

Contributed by GINA on Saturday, 22nd March 2003 @ 12:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

MoM, stop dragging me ,Why do you run?
Dad ,my brothers, where have they gone?
Look! planes and fireworks in the sky
But Why are you sad?Why do you cry ?

MoM,Why are we leaving? i wanna go home
Please stop talking with this terrifying tone

MoM, am i grounded?promise i'll be good
Can we come back now and get some food?

MoM,what are those things making this sound?
Who's blowing those holes in the ground ?

MoM, tell them to stop,im afraid!are we gonna die?
What have we done? Why are they doing this,Why,Why?

MoM, you mean they are killing us just to overcome?!!!
Watch it!!!!MoM,do u hear me..talk to me..MoM..MoM...MOOOOOM

Your poem is absolutely breathtaking, even as I support this war in Iraq. I don't think anyone can really make us understand war. I don't want to see innocent people die here or over there.Your perspective into this is so real and deep and I respect that. There is a contest on war related poetry - I am going to try to find the address and I think you should submit this. It is very moving and I thank you for sharing it.

Well this was sad but we are not trying to kill the innocent people,we are trying to kill their leader so they can have a better country to live in ! Some of them there are ruting for our soldiers! It is so sad still I know what you are trying to say in this, but the troops are trying to help those Iraqi people.

a really good poem which discusses war in real terms rather than political terms that attempt to justify or condemn

Ok..Alien..it's obvious you have a crush on Gina here..that's fine..but ya know..the iraqi ppl themselves are telling us they want our help..what news channel are you watching anyhow?? I have been watching it live..every day.. One iraqi smacked Saddam's poster with his shoe..and if you know anything about iraqi's..that's like the ultimate of insults..I suggest you watch the news..These ppl are jumping for joy..they are high fiving the american soldiers..THEY told us...I have said my piece on these two poems.. I won't be commenting on them anymore..it's not worth my time to explain to you things that are right in front of your faces..the poems were good..written nice..Ijust don't think your subject was all that correct...Maybe you don't see it..and perhaps you never will..unless you experience what they have gone through. I have also noted that you are not an American..you have no idea what's it's like to watch terrorists brutally murder thousands and thousands of innocent lives..I challenge you to show me proof of us killing innocent lives in Iraq..I challenge it..I have seen the pictures..on both sides..the iraqi news and the american news..we did not target innocent lives...Were you guys alive during 9-11?? oh that's right...it's not your country..sorry to have brought it up

Well I don't think Lia will be reading more comments, though I wanted her to read mine.
First, you should ask about Lebanon, the country Gina and I are from, once you do, you won't be talking about "terrorists" and "brutal murders", we lost our childhood hiding from bombs too, not for a week, not for two, not even for one whole year! but for 17 damn long ones, I have seen cadavers more than you ever saw live people, we all lost our parents, our relatives, 17 years we ate and drank not in a shelter, we never had that courtasy, but on the stairs of the building, 17 years still we went to our schools and unis and every single day we staired death in the face, so excuse me if September 11 meant nothing for us, after all the bloods of those ennocent well educated people that have died are on your hands, we lived with politics and learned it too damn well to know who did those attacks, Bin Ladden, yes, but who runs that bastard? who gave the Afghan those arms? America did in cold war so they can fight Russia, but I won't talk about that, I just want the world to know that Saddam is as bad as Tony Blair and Bush, each seeking his share in all this, the people of Iraq might be happy hoping to get out of their poverty, but I know what Israel and America are capable of, they could have killed him in one single bullet. Anyway, nice poem, brings back memories of my childhood, and this subject won't find an ending except when it gets printed on history's pages.
