Oh come, soft rains, and wash away,
the sins, the debts, we're too poor to pay.
A little rain, one time or another,
can surely help, a wounded brother.
You hear the silence, before the storm.
The same silence you hear, after the war.
The deafening sound, of life to renew.
The silent thunder, of a storm a-brew.
This thunder rumbles, in my life.
Of traitors, of love, of pain, of strife.
I am the one, who is always cheated.
My love is gone, my hopes, defeated.
Who are you, to crush my dreams?
You've torched my soul, you've torn my seams.
I can't believe, I let you in.
You've back-stabbed me, and all my kin.
What's wrong with me? I do not lie.
You turned and left, not so much as a sigh.
But how, can you, just walk away?
When for all these years, I've let you stay.
I guess it's my fault, when I look deep down.
You've always smiled, you never frowned.
But please, in what way did I hurt?
That is no reason, to treat me like dirt.
Just another page, a page of my book.
Of those who laughed, and of those who took.
I look out my window. For a storm I yearn.
For again the trees, and skies, shall churn.

I liked these parts:
I am the one, who is always cheated.
My love is gone, my hopes, defeated.
Just another page, a page of my book.
Of those who laughed, and of those who took.
I look out my window. For a storm I yearn.
For again the trees, and skies, shall churn.

You have really come up with a great metaphoric idea here. I kinda wish I had written this. :D You have captured and express the hurt that someone dealt you so well. I'm sure so many of us can relate to this. I know I can. I hope it is getting better for you.
I am happy I have dropped by your pages.
Take care,
Tim |
