Have you ever heard a vampire cry
while the dew is still upon?
And all the world is a lingering gray
right before the dawn?
Have you ever heard his sad weeping
over the evil life he’s led?
With escaping sobs declaring
He’s sorry he’s undead?
Have you ever heard him beg to be
forgiven of his last embrace?
Or ask that someone take a stake
then end his life of disgrace?
If you hear crying in the dark
and it chills you to the core.
I suggest you find a cross
A good precaution for—
Vampires never really cry!

A well written poem. Has a sense of dread mystique to it and a haunting feeling. a good delineation of a 'typal' being such as the vampire which isn't evolutionary unlike man who is and therefore is self-satisfied in its own perfection (within limits of course) and does not display remorse or regret or rectitude.
