RUSTY KNIGHT FACING THE WRONG WAY.

Contributed by gmcse8 on Tuesday, 9th December 2008 @ 05:31:21 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Metal creaks, joints protest, rust flakes fall to the floor,
its seems, that this rusty old armor is heavier each day.
Rusty chain mail donned first, links no longer supple,
and like the bones holding it up, movement, age does betray.

Armor dented, scarred, bones stiffened by time; prepared,
for the fray, he dons the helmut, paldroons, gautlet, & greave.
Forward into battle for the Dark Princess, will he never learn;
all who just stand and watch, think he is to old, to be still so naive.

Each new day greeted, arrayed in rusty armor ready to do battle,
protecting her always, willing to stand in harm's way,
ready to give his full measure of devotion to protect her dreams
He asks himself not for the first time, is it worth entering the affray.

Day passes, another fight, rusty armor against an onslaught,
rusty pieces aside, counting dents garnered standing at her door.
As he counts dents, this is odd he thinks, how is this possible,
new dents in the rust are all in the back, with whom is he at war?

I think it's interesting. (Not trying to be offensive if it's taken that way.) I like your image of the so called, 'knight in shining armor'. I write in a way similar to how you wrote this one; I can't seem to just make myself write a good poem. Usually I will just 'get' an idea doing something random, and start writing and... that's about it =P.

Wow, this writing is incredible.
I write mostly lyrics. The title comes first, then course, then the rest.
Awesome work.
Huggs, smiles, blessings,
I'm no Knight but considering my age, I can totally relate to this work of art.
