What do you offer upon love’s grand alter?
Do you give freely, your one and true Psalter?
So much to give and so much to be taken
So much for the love that we both have forsaken
I brought us to this, though not my intention
Draped our wonderful life in dire contravention
Repentant I’ll kneel, for years if it need be
To know for just a moment, that you will forgive me
And maybe someday, you’ll reach for my hand
To pull me back from this desolate land
Empty of us, our own insularity
One more chance to feel our love’s charity

written with genuine emotion, there is some wonderful language in here, epitomised by this line:
Draped our wonderful life in dire contravention
that is simply goldust. very well done.

Steve...
My heart aches for you. You are so capable of taking a reader right into your soul. I have no doubt that you would spend an eternity on your knees, if that's the cost. I hope you get another chance. Great job.
Be well,
~Loende |
