The Captive Memory

Contributed by Rali_Shayne on Monday, 1st December 2008 @ 12:03:03 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Today I confide in our memories:
the windows into distant heartbeats,
a chapel of personal guiding light;
beaming orange from the outer soul.
This floating light sings harmoniously,
to shine through the hidden seams.
Revealing what we are, what we might be.

if only we controlled the painted memory...

In dark days we could have been pilgrims:
clasping the hands of lost children,
pulling them from storm waves in paradise;
to the calm shores of our best intentions.
In truth, intentions sometimes fail to blend.
Instead I hold tight to these memories;
of what it was I actually meant to say,
what I wanted to make of yesterday,
the perfect sympathies we meant to pray,
the ships we meant to harbor near love's bay.

if only we could paint the memory with intent...

In coldest nights we could have been stars,
shining above the frozen tundra of the lonely;
holding, warming, melting the ice from hearts.
Until lovers wed in staircases near to serenity.
Understanding a unions poetry is the life not the vow.
Instead now, I hold tight to the beginning:
the raptured taste of our passion's divinity,
as our eyes stared into the depths of infinity;
seeking comfort and shelter in love's validity,
beheading the author of narcissism's supremacy.

if only we could rewrite our lost love poems...

Today I confide in our memories:
windows into your kiss, your arms,
a monument to profound passion;
breaking the barrier of the bitter end.
This dream state refines my heart
and lends purpose to the life wandering.
I reveals what I was, what we once were.

A secret hidden.
only to be seen in a memory...

Wow...this is just so beautifully lyrical. A very powerful and poignant first post. I've often wished that the past could be re-written...

The only disappointment will be if you lay down our pen. Wonderful job and welcome to YPDC.

Be well,
Loende
