empty shelves, empty shelves
that no-one else has seen
I tell them I read,
I tell them I bleed
Still, nobody questions
I took a walk down the lane,
The lane you said you lived on
It felt so strange to feel your pain,
I saw your house
But didn't go in
Turning back,
I walked slow
To place my own feet
In the marks, on the street
Where your boots had trodden
I loved it all
I can barely hear your voice
They had to take it all away
They took all I had away
