And as fire fell from heaven
to lighten up the skies
to show the scene before us
as we hear the horried cries
of a hundred thousand screams
of the dying and the dead
who stand before the path
of destruction we've been lead
and the terror that's been cast
like a shadow on the wall
as we watch once again
how the mighty they do fall
and at last we bow our heads
to know we are to blame
for the causes of our action
and to show the world our shame

I really liked the diction that you used. It was a pretty good poem. Maybe you can lengthen it a little.
