The Last Time

Contributed by courtseb on Thursday, 27th November 2008 @ 10:55:50 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I give you a hug and a kiss goodbye,
hold your hand tight with a tear in my eye.
I say not a word, but I know it in my heart,
that this is the last time, before you depart.
I let your hand go and say a short prayer,
knowing where ever we go you'll always be there.
I turn once more and see your sweet face,
and run right back for one last embrace,
and not long after, you won your race.

Dedicated to: Great Uncle Jerry

A fitting and poignant tribute.
It is always hard to say goodbye but even harder when you know you will never again say it to that person.
Touching

Steve

I felt the combination of braveness and sadness in this and the overall importance of saying that goodbye very moving write
