Where I never belong

From these thoughts I ran away
We always wished we could stay
But we can't undo what is done
Look around, everyone is gone
You took me home and let me stay
For the night, for the day
My friends back home they knew
I was leaving them for you

It wasn't love but we ain't friends
A story, maybe it'll never end
I trusted you with everything I had
To let you crush it in the end
A step I took towards you
Now I wish I could undo
With lies you won this power game
Nothing will ever be the same

I could recall a time they stood
Next to me through the bad and good
I'm working to regain the trust
Of the people I left behind cause of us
They tell me that I am obsessed
That you made me such a mess
With your girlfriend by your side
But you can't leave me behind

Now your home feels not like mine
Or the place I used to spend some time
I don't want to go towards the place
See you with this unknown face
What has become of who I used to be
This fading person isn't me
I'm running back to the friends I love
The place you wanted to keep me off

Now back with a drink in my hand
In the other a cigarette
Another call from you that fades
Towards all our empty days
I'm leaving the memories of you behind
There's no more trust towards your kind
Fake love, fake feelings, fake care
All by all, you were never there
