How can you lose something so great?
Something that took years to create,
How can it just be tossed out,
only to merely be thought about?
Its been far more than a little while,
but the memories of you remain.
I can clearly see that perfect smile,
it's a burning image in my brain.
With all that went wrong between you and I,
I've only thought of you as the time has gone by.
There was no better feeling than having what I waited for,
and no worse than when you closed the door.
With all the pain that you put me through,
I still can't seem to get away.
As I watch as our horizon slowly fades from view,
I wonder if I'll ever see a brighter day?

You really are quite good at painting an image with your words. I especially thought that was true in the last stanza. The last stanza was the one I went back to and read two or three more times. For me that was the best of the poem. |

Wow. That was depressing.
But in the best possible way.
I can never rhyme like that,
I just can't think of enough rhymes :P
I like it though. |
