Everyone's Impressed (already)

I never learned how to play guitar or how my soul sings,
But I do know how a register rings.
Kept my dreams high and my thoughts down low,
Staying grounded in the gutter as I move up slow.
Feeling out of date as a typewriter,
At a modern office by a water cooler.
Saved a soul by a bridge at eleven clock,
But if it were after midnight she’d of been down in the rocks.
Cause scheduled does as scheduled is,
I’m turning up to be a blind Billy the kid,
Incompetent as a seasonal b itch,
Fixing for a fit with a pair of boots to kick,
I’ve no lace to tie and for this I’m blessed,
And everyone’s already impressed.
Don’t know how glass gets made,
But I can tell a hoax from a poor charade.
Turning my past into a puzzle and my present keeps up,
Don’t want to play it nice if I turn corrupt.
Bought a pair of smiles that I keep in my shirt,
One for the laughs the other’s when my feelings hurt.
Cause scheduled does as scheduled is,
Ignorance is ugly for intellectual bliss,
Turning sour like a year old hitch,
Making powder out of rocks with my wrists.
There’s no lack of interest for the amount of rest,
And everyone’s already impressed.

Impressive! This in mind seems a little like a modern day throw back to the ideas of the beat generation come head into the ideas and thoughts of the Seattle Generation of the nineties. I like the way your thoughts come in and out as blurbs and this wraps up splendidly. I really enjoyed reading this thoroughly. There is a rebeliousness and a potent mascunlinity in this piece. While this doesn't remind me of (Whitman, D. Thomas, and R. McKuen) your expression within is very comparable. You have a unique voice speaking in (poetry...something wrongfully considered to be anti-masculine) with a voice that is gruff, wise, and deep!
As I said I hate to be like everyone..but I am impressed!
SUPERB!
