Shard of My Heart

Contributed by Kano on Friday, 14th November 2008 @ 01:18:14 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

It happens every now and then, That old memory comes back again
the day ends and moon shines through, painting a perfect picture of you
A single glimpse of a beauty lost, Dancing through my shadowed room
close my eyes your presence remains, it feels like I'm going insane
it feels like I'm going insane

(chorus)
Theres always a dark cloud above me
The rain is falling as far as I can see
Could it possibly be me, am I that unlucky
Bringing misfortune to everyone I meet
I try to control it but it knocks me down
You were the one that showed me how
with you not here by my side
I don't know how I'll survive
I don't know how I'll survive

(bridge)
I feel there is something broken in me
It's hard to focus and hard to breathe

Another night of restless sleep, Because I'm too afraid to dream
I found your ring behind the desk and I held it close to my chest
All this time of trying to forget, I don't think I'm ready just yet
My heart can't be fixed, without the piece I haven't found yet

I hung the pictures back up once more, found an old shirt that you wore
I just wanted to be close to you, Even if it wasn't true
My tears will continue to fall ,But it doesn't seem to help at all

Theres always a dark cloud above me
The rain is falling as far as I can see
Could it possibly be me, am I that unlucky
Bringing misfortune to everyone I meet
I try to control it but it knocks me down
You were the one that showed me how
with you not here by my side
I don't know how I'll survive
I don't know how I'll survive

The peice of my heart that's been lost, you have held it from the start
You hold within you a broken shard, the final part to my broken heart

This is not bad. You impress me as a writer. These are words I can put music to.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
