Could it have been a thousand years since I last knew your love?
Five hundred passed, before again, I felt your loving touch?
Were we entwined in passion strong and felt desire this way?
Did our lips touch so long ago just as they touch today?
A Queen of queens, no doubt you were, no less you could have been
A queen so lovely fired my soul, your bosom was the kiln
You had my heart in days of old, I’ve searched and found it so,
For when in my arms you finally are, they know it’s you they hold
The eyes that look so deep in mine, what had they seen before?
In stolen passion’s moment, did they see me bolt the door?
They surely gazed so full of love and saw the morning sun
And looked so lovely as you slept, when passion’s fire was done
It’s not but death could sever ties, the bonds of love we gave
Could it be you or was it I, that stood before the grave
And promised that, one day we’d meet and vow to love once more
Or were we laid together to walk through the timeless door
I’ve found you, love, my heart has seen familiar gentle ways
And it must beat as it did then, to see your loving face
So I take you once again and hold a love divine
The love you give, I’ve seen before, remembering it as mine

*sigh*
Well, this was just a beautiful piece from the title right on down.
The last verse grips the heart with such tenderness, it's enough to
make one weep. This is just a wonderfully romantic piece of beauty.
Lovely post!
