I do not understand
Around us blood and sand
Is this the wondrous earth?
You’ve promised us at birth
Do you bear a liar’s tongue?
Are you just as blind as them?
Surely this is not the world
Ambition can hope to cure
Place the burden on the youth
Crawl back to your selfish tomb
Leave your child to endure
The nightmares conjured in your time
But unlike generations lost
Shaped by the sins their parents wrought
We will make the best
Of this heirloom tattered torn

I love this. I can't stand when older people moan about the world and blame it on the youth of today.
When we were simply born into a world that they broke.
They fired the gun, why should we take the bullet?
Great write |
