Arms full of trust with rust on my sheild

Contributed by lostrelic on Wednesday, 12th November 2008 @ 06:38:57 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I have seen many things in dreams from towers falling to a world wide police state
Children crying as there parents run with flames at their feet
People and ideas falling like stars
Dreams burning while getting drunk in bars
Little voices going empty on sullen ears
Blocked by confusion faces smeared with tears
Church asleep while hens and pastors bicker on who is right
War between brothers on issues of black and white

Time losing ground as reality spins us off course
Hooves of pestilence with riders on a pale horse
Anger in the streets as glass cuts little toes
Not trusting anyone all things are foes
Fish in the water drown from all things not right
Freedom of choice gone in a night
With issues high and tension evolving to this point
Most hiding in the back smoking a joint
Drugs fogging the mind letting things getting smeared out of line

I looked to the heavens and I heard your voice cry
We have lost the way our hearts have become clay
Cold in our blood that’s smeared on the floor
Bodies walking but rotten to the core
Crimes and views to easy to justify
Watching everyone walk with blood in both eyes
No shield to protect we have let the enemy in
I do not know how it started but I am sure how it will end
Is this time to gather into groups
Protect who we love and forget those out of the loop
Lovers in scorn with pride blocking the way
Time is close to this end of day

I sit like a candle my light still a glow
Waiting for others to shine and to grow
Sensing something in my spirit a feeling of something’s gone wrong
As the music starts I think I was born to sing this song
This ground under me as stable as the sky
Waiting for some part of humanity to die
I pick up my sword my shield still has rust
I walk in this valley my arms full of trust
Watching the world and the image we create
Time is the only thing that will show our true fate
