so sad

Contributed by LadyDama on Thursday, 20th March 2003 @ 10:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

shots rang out in the dead of night
come on soldiers, it's time to fight
scared within; brave without
charging forward with a shout
this war is pain, this war is scary
this war on Earth is customary
frightened babies, innocents unknown
across the world peace has been blown
do we sit here and watch a terrorist
butcher lives; oh, he does his best
is it our business, to police the world
to contribute to this havoc, and chaos untold
answers i have not, my soul in conflict
do i support our freedom or idly sit
my heart is torn in such a way
my gentle soul so somber this day
every person in the world is so precious
not one is expendable; a universal chorus
i am sad and proud simultaneously
trying not to analyze with too much frailty
i tell the world i support our nation
and pray our choice will end; please listen
i wish for peace and sacred life
i wish for our world to be void of strife
i think i know this is the only way
so why am i so sad on this beautiful day

I pray for peace all the time, I believe we do have to police the world, but yet also have compassion for those who are injured, thanks for sharing this, its very confusing,

a beautiful poem full of honest but complex feelings, the worst of it is that to many this war is an incitement to terrorism, its not going to prevent terrorism its going to recruit more terrorists against us, muslims dont like seeing muslim countries invaded especially by infidel western powers, as for the iraqi people, the turks are moving in on the north to continue an age old vendetta against the kurds while we bomb and shoot those in the south, apart from gaining control of the iraqi oil we aredoing no good whatsoever there

u shouldnt feel sad about it , no , if the Bush is ready to sacrifice 1000...of his army and 10000 ..of innocent iraqui's citizens just to please his thurst for the iraqui's oil and his dream of putting his hand on those countries...then instead of feeling sad abt those casualties ,y dont pple try to do something abt it !!!oh yes ,i forgot,he's the one with power!! you can only laugh when he says that he's doin it for world peace hahaha i mean wat kinda stupid he thinks pple are?!!having the power doesnt allow him to kill and start wars just when he feels so ,despite the rejection of many countries...wat he think he's doin?ending terrorism ,if that 's his point ,then i think he should start by killing Sharon then suiciding ...after that they can watch from hell how better the world became..
