try to stay sane

Its a constant struggle to stay sane
With dagger sharp words and flaming glares
Its like being chained up on the wall
Let everyone and anyone take a chance to throw a dart?
Its humiliating
a slow torturing of the soul
If you've been told something so many times
You're bound to believe it
Brainwashed in a sort
Constantly beat down
Are you getting lost in the haze?
Did you find a way to hide it all away?
Would you travel down that road?
That's a pitch black path washed in coloring crayons
It has a mind all its own
Wouldn't you be afraid you would lose yours?
When the world around you turns to chaos
Could you keep yourself sane?
When everyone tells you you're crazy
Do you believe them?
When you're wound so tight
How can you hold it together?
Would you try and hide it
Pretend its all okay?
Would you try and fool it?
Trickery is the most deceiving
Capital punishment was never this bad
Never this hard
So many reasons
So little will
How do most manage?
There are so many decisions
Which is best may differ in opinion
How some people crash
And others escape
It baffles me
Now, can you decipher this poem?

You captured a depth of emotion in this that I rarely read or see.
Well in personal experience I can read much into this.
One being words and looks hurt, sometimes worse than being hit.
Another point..... people who fall upon abuse in their life deal differently, a dark road could be many factors.
It could be drugs, alcohol, in my friends case a suicide.
The flip side....... others can endure the same type of trama's in this life and somehow forge through it all.
Is it all the observer or is it only the certain person?
What makes it different? That is an age old question one of which I have not figured out either.
Loved this write.
Lots of thought.
Hugs to you
