I've got Jesus on House Arrest

Contributed by Desideratum on Monday, 10th November 2008 @ 08:10:45 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

I’ve got Jesus on house arrest
until most everyone here is blessed.
I gave him enough food to last the test
you’ve afforded him before all gets addressed.

I’ve got Jesus on house arrest.
He’s got a tag on his ankle and a bulletproof vest.
And I offered him to go but he protests
until most everyone here is blessed.

I’ve got Jesus on house arrest
till you say love’s alright and no one’s less.
He’s got a tear in his eye and a scar on his chest
for the people fighting in his defense.

I’ve got Jesus on house arrest.
He knows something about being second rate, I know less,
but he’s angry and he’s bitter and I confess,
he won’t leave the house till everyone here is blessed.

I’ve got Jesus on house arrest.
He says love is love and hell, I know best.
And no church of mine sets up a crucifix.
I’m not coming out till everyone here is blessed.

I’ve got Jesus on house arrest.
He voted no on the ballot but his boys vote yes.
And he’s torn and he cries and he’s quite distressed,
and he won’t come out till everyone’s blessed.

Well done.

Because I don't feel that this comment is quite long enough, I'm going to tell you something I've never told anyone:

I have an obsession with question marks. I can sit for hours drawing them over and over again.

Always, Abraham

Sir, If you've got Jesus, then you are free, and "free indeed"
no matter what personal prison cell you find yourself in.
All 12 Disciples learned this to be the truth, and you can too.
My advice is: Whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Phillipians 4:8.
BLESSINGS,
Robert Edgar Lawdog Burns
