I find these steadfast walls, of thy love’s cloister
Lofty battlements smothered by lichen and vine
Lain against these stones, quail from days of roister
To breach these ramparts, entering thy love’s shrine
~*~
Stones jaded unlike, the beauty of thy emerald eyes
Unto I gain thy trust, my venture attains no hold
Paradise mislaid within, thy contempt for me belies
Years’ hurtful love given thee, one of rust and gold
~*~
Surmounting parapets, with an oath of beloved trust
Undoing years of sorrow, to seek an eminent end
Impelled by my love unlike, the nakedness of lust
Not to gain what love we lost, but rather to transcend
~*~
Thy love and the quest thereof will always wend my way
To thee I pledge, I will find thy love in this loneliest cache
