Tranced, as the flowers flourish
peacefully on the hillside.
Eyes transfixed, on each blade of grass
moving in rhythm with the breeze.
A shadow casts its form into a cross.
Halos in circle the soul,
entombed, in my thought of mind.
In a split second, a blink of an eye
existence is erased by time.
Silence is of hollow ground...
and bound to the grasp of nothing.
Time stops for the deceased minds...
and continues as the rest pass by....
A Stone chiseled name, the only evidence.
That life is just a buried oblivion...

Out of maybe the 15 or 20 poems and things that I've read on here in the two days since I signed up, this is my favorite one so far... Creative, not predictable, it reminds me of the stuff I try to write... |
