Lord,
take me to a place where i can be who i am
let me follow the american dream
without falling slave to uncle sam
let all good things be just what they seem
help me stand not proud but tall
don't let me grow too ashamed to cry
and never let anyone see me fall
keep my well from running dry
let it flow like the mighty rivers of our nation
teach me to be a hoist for those who are down
and never let me show anger or frustration
dont let me make liscence plates or wear a prison crown
teach me lord to go in grace like you
teach me to hear the angels sing
let me end my days tried and true
i know death can be a scarry thing
and the angel of death makes no sound
but im just not ready to give up not ready to go
so wait a minute before you lay me in the ground
lord, please just take it slow
