Love's Autumn

Contributed by navydocny on Friday, 7th November 2008 @ 08:13:13 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

Warm sunrays, against our love’s autumn crisping chill
Fallen leaves, once infused with so much earthly life
When color faded none, such as my love and goodwill
The frost of such days, deny hearts filled with love’s rife

As with some seasons past, yet another is unyielding
Nothing to harvest, as there is none left to reap
But cold unfilled nights, and vacant thoughts wielding
Pleasant of memories, that invade our night’s sleep

Spring shall be reborn, after the harsh winter’s reign
Songbirds in my heart, will still be singing your loveliness
Will your heart sing its song true, or will it abstain
And surrender its love, to an inestimable abjectedness

Season’s circle surrounds all hearts, live and proper
With love between two, the two’s world shall prosper

Wow, Steve, this is excruciatingly lovely. I adore the metaphor of love
being like the seasons. And you have written this so well. There is such a comfort
in reading this. I can't even begin to express how it has touched me.

Hope you are keeping well, all things considered. As always, praying for you ~
