At surge against the dawn

Contributed by iodinelove on Wednesday, 5th November 2008 @ 06:17:43 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Forever, the eyes of time surrounds us, and the hands of its regret casts, as nets into the sea, our hands together, and comes to call upon the brevity of our love, and laughs.
Always our thoughts draw to the immaculacy of our love for each other, never considering the infirmity of our hearts, never imagining the sting of our own words falling idly to rest.

Yet, our love, after being scattered by distances and time, betrayed by our dreams and desires, rises higher than before, stretches across the plain unbridled fields of night that for it cry out in lamentation, and spreads throngs of silver in exaltation of itself, casting the darkness into tired, twinkling light.

I feel that these words have washed from me tonight, that they are lost to storm, held strenuously and in discourse, unable to free the tears that dwell in the low caverns of my heart, unable to sing clearly the glory and distress of my soul when in my darkest hour I know that I have loved.

I am compelled to cry out. The world is in defiance of itself, and it disconcerts me, and the howls and cries of children deafens my ear to the sea at surge against the dawn, and strips my heart of hope, persuading my voice to call out, yet I find that I am mute, that the sorrows of my own soul steal my voice from me.

Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy comes
in the morning. Seek the light of God's love, and
He can send you a peace that passes all understanding
and give you songs in the night.

Blessings,
Robert Edgar "Lawdog" Burns

Sometimes, the strength finds us, my friend...

This is a deeply emotional and evocative write that is so weighty and beautiful. I have many parts in here that just stayed with me, but most especially the third stanza. Powerful and deeply moving. Thank you for posting it and I'll put you in my prayers. Job well done.

Be well ,
Loende
