SHARPENING IRON

Contributed by Robert_Edgar_Burns on Monday, 3rd November 2008 @ 10:05:37 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

As iron sharpens iron
One man can gird another.
A rising tide lifts up all boats,
Whether small or mighty rudder.

When Moses lifted up his rod
To bloody that mighty River,
He sharpened up his nations’ men
Like the arrows in David's’ quiver.

If we go along life's paths
And forget to bring our brothers,
We will fall into pot holes,
Unassisted by another.

An enemy passed me by one day
As I lay beside a ditch.
I almost had bitter words to say,
When his cohort reached to lift.

What makes one man roll up his sleeve
As another man turns away?
Why do some men espouse virtue,
And others seek only pay?

As iron sharpens iron,
All men can strengthen spines.
I want to bolster yours friend,
And won’t you please glue mine?
