Thy ravaged heart, bled barren of love
Devoid of long years’, blissful song
Gone the dreams, that dance thereof
Steadily mourning, thy lover’s long
Battlements built, and trenches to drudge
Love’s lost empty struggle, never is won
Hash tongues, each other will begrudge
Contented with fray, both lovers will shun
Savage contrivance, sways to exculpation
Time sowing, it’s seeds of remembrance
Of the sweet sigh of love, and exoneration
Adoration anew, delving through ambivalence
Truest of all loves entails committed travail
Without a labor for love, thou cannot prevail
