Self Doubt at Midnight

Contributed by Rakerman1999 on Wednesday, 29th October 2008 @ 10:04:53 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Unto the stars I lift my eyes
Unto the darkness spill my sighs
A better man might kneel to pray

But I have little left to say

And so inside myself are kept
The countless tears that I have wept
For weeping is a private thing
That shuns the pity it might bring

So I will lie with eyes of red
Through sleepless nights upon my bed
And wonder what tomorrow brings

Another hurt or better things

But better things come few and slowly
And I am useless,
lost
and lowly

With little chance to find my way
Before the night succumbs to day

L. Carling c 2008

*hugs you, sensing you could use one*

Larry, it is always such an extreme pleasure when you visit YPDC and leave us with one of your scribblings.
This is so touching I can hardly find words in which to express my sincerest admiration. You have always had
the ability to extract an emotion, but in this one, you've sweetly caressed it until it can bear the kindness no longer.
Like saying, "I haven't done anything to warrant your attention, so I'm just going to curl up here at your feet...and
admire you from the base of my soul." Not sure if that made much sense, but your poems tend to wreck havoc
with my sensibilities ...ah ... frequently.

Excellent write, friend, as always.

*a bouquet of autumn spilled leaves*
for the giver of roses ...

~ Breezy

I just turned this thing on and here you are. Lovely poem but so dang sad. I miss you. What can I do to make you feel better??

For now a huge hug (the special kind) a kiss and a rose with a daisy.

love you

very precise, poignant piece...theres no shame in tears, crying is good, even for guys (what i call real men). even if we might tend to feel lost at times, we eventually find the way. trust yourself, and u will sleep without a doubt in your mind again. take care

Oh Larry, this is gut-wrenching..... yet you always manage to put your thoughts across so beautifully... a very emotionally charged poem.... Hope this is fictional..and if not, then I pray that the morning brings some sunshine to you...
Hugs

Even with all the sadness and desolation, it is good to see your write here. I hope that this was just the bluest part of your day, but know that you have many friends here that support you, myself included.
I look forward to reading more of your splendid works!

Serapax will kill that creating pain, Larry- at least till morning.

These lines are an actual embodiment of suffering and regret, and too bloody familiar, this ache.
