To the Sky

Contributed by joelmuses on Wednesday, 29th October 2008 @ 09:19:15 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

How I wish I could quit, and leave
that which bereaves
the fickle flecks of folly. Here, they lie
in stone, set in
stone, set in
time.

How nice to be dry, and wave
to the patience I gave
you, flighty trick of candle. Light, it waves
and you wash out
in waves, nothing
grows.

How but once did I call, and strike
all the dowry of
your seething façade. There, you see
it worn, to be
torn, never
worn.

How repetitive it grows more
repetitive, each
time I inhale the sighs. Still, it is
water over the
dam. Damn the
water, it’s
over.

How I wish I could quit, and leave
frivolities. Believe
the holy dark of night. There, it sinks
in the sky, to
the sky, lost in
time.
