From where came your love on gilded wing
To clutch so lovingly to thy breast
None good fortune such feelings bring
Veneration I take to thy eternal rest
As newborn babes awash of all sin
Pure as saintly rain on new summer’s morn
Of pageantry splendid discovered therein
Chaste as the breeze after a storm
Just as the sun sets and moon made to rise
Exchanging our tenderness for each other to hold
Soon tells of love’s struggle against demise
Entreating against a darkening forebode
I fight for thine laughter, company, thine love
Dispatched unto me gently from Heaven above

Oh Steve, this is so damn BEAUTIFUL!!! There is much romance and
enchantment mixed inside your words. It could set the coldest heart
aflame! ♥ What a magical and wondrous world you've allowed
your reader access to. I am captivated by your word choices AND by
the simple beauty of your imagery. Damn fine writing, my friend.
Take care of you. I'm so glad you have begun to write these. They are
enchanting ~
*sigh*

I like this type of poetry.
Very good piece.
I have always desired to be able to write like this, but I guess each poet has their own unique form.
