changing ways

I'm fighting demons
I wont listen to lies
I'm getting in position to shine
I might be dreaming but I'm getting in line
I wont leave till I'm given a try
I'm driven to rise hoping the cries will cease
no more criminal life cause I finally see
prison wont fly with me
visions of this life I'm living while riding street
all include a violent sleep
I'm not trying to die so I'll just ride in peace
focus on the line and beat
while I try to find a way to get the shine on me
free me from the crime and heat
cause I cant live another day with these violent dreams

Good for you, if this is about you. We all need to reach that point in our lives when we take a good look at ourselves and determine if who we are at the moment has reached the full worth and potential of who we are supposed to be. If we haven't, then yes, we certainly need to work on changing our ways. Many people let the days pass by not accomplishing anything positive, but only adding to the negative aspects of this world. Your poem is encouraging and certainly inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
