Every bite took,
a tear falls in its place.
I shouldn’t feel so tortured,
to look at a simple reflection.
Hideous, grotesque, and stout
the only three adjectives I feel are right for me.
The sad thing is,
this is not only skin deep.
My soul feels as frail,
as my old notebook that I so desperately cling to.
It seems out of my reach for help,
although it’s been recommended .
I let my thoughts strangle me long ago
besides this life was never mine to begin with.

That's what that little mean voice tells you to keep you from finding your true worth. I bet there is a lot within yourself that you haven't discovered that is beautiful. It's not an easy mindset to get rid of, but don't seal it--conquer it. You'll never find your beauty until you do. I can relate to how you feel, and I am glad I read your poem!
Blessings,
T.S. Wilkins |
